It's free to set up and a great way to continuously spread the word about your business. My second tip is about blogging. Having a blog is an even more indepth way to keep your customers coming back for more! Blogs and facebook can go hand-in-hand. Whenever you make a blog post, share it on your facebook page. Having your business all over the web is so important these days with technology being one of the main means of information... and did I mention that it's FREE! Websites can be time consuming to update, but blogs and facebook only take minutes to update with fresh information. Don't miss out on these great marketing ideas!

Marketing Tip: Networking with local businesses

Lawn signs are not only perfect for placing in someones front yard on their special day, but they also make terrific gifts for employers, their staff and coworkers!

1. Ask friends and family to hand out your marketing information to their coworkers (as long as it's permitted) or simply place your marketing materials in the office lunchroom or on office bulletin boards. Include a special coupon!

2. Offer discounts to customers who rent signs to be placed outside their office or business. Not only will they love having a discount and surprising their coworkers, but having your sign placed on commercial property is great advertising for your business.


3. Work directly with the company. We have several companies that use Sweet Greetings as their main source of gifts for their employees. When a staff member has a special occasion (new baby, birthday, wedding...) the company purchases a sign rental for their employee. Sometimes they have it delivered to the employees home and sometimes they have it placed outside the business itself. Either way, helping employers celebrate their staff builds great business relationships. It feels good to receive a personalized sign and feels extra good coming from an employer who appreciates their employees. Signs also make great gifts for the boss! Don't forget Boss's day and his/her birthday!

4. Offer your signs for local business promotions: grand openings, sales, store events and more!

5. Network with local party planners and party entertainers (clowns, fairy's, magicians...).

6. Work with local real estate agents (many agents offer the new homeowners a gift). Not only is it awesome to see the 'SOLD' sign in front of the home you just purchased, but seeing a beautiful lawn display saying 'Welcome HOME' is an added bonus for the homeowner as well as the agent... and you!

Signs for all occasions!

I thought it would be fun to highlight some of our non-traditional rentals. We all know that storks are for babies and our graduation owl is for grads etc., but our signs are so versatile that they can actually be used in SO many unique ways!

For instance, cakes are not just for birthdays! We eat cake to celebrate countless occasions and our cake signs are used for countless occasions as well. This week we did a cake rental to congratulate a local customer on "taking the cake" for being named one of the top dentists in the country! What a special way to announce this extraordinary moment!


Another really great rental was when our customer requested our cowboy sign to celebrate a 60th birthday! Our adorable signs are great for the young as well as the young at heart. Life is to short for boring gifts - give the gift of pure joy! That's one of the best parts of owning this business. I love helping others celebrate in a fun way!

I live near (and offer my storks) in the town where the "Yard Storks" began. I've never been worried about competing with one of the most recognized stork companies w/ franchises nationwide. Email issues

If you email info@sweet-greetings.com and do not get a reply within 2-3 days please try to resend or use another email address. It seems as if random emails are getting kicked back and I am not receiving them. I would hate to miss an email or have someone think that I did not reply. I try to respond to emails within 24 hours (and often times much sooner). It should never take more than 3 days to hear from me, so please call or resend your email if you do not get a reply. I am trying to find out why this is happening since we've never had this problem before.
